Job Description
- Managing large-scale database projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Providing guidance and training to junior DBAs and team members.
- Design and implement database architecture in accordance to end user information, needs and views, build high availability database systems
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and timely manner
- Perform database auditing, optimizing performance of Database systems.
- Perform operational DBA duties in a complex environment.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Perform regular tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
- Support project and pre-sales teams in client builds.
- To be a force of proposal on the management of the security and confidentiality of the client data.
- Propose innovative solutions and architectures to clients. Be a force for new technical proposals.
- Have a strong knowledge in operating systems related to databases, know how to manage high availability on OS part.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience designing and managing Database systems of Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Any DBA/Cloud certifications as a plus. (OCI and EDB certifications).
- Expertise in designing scalable and efficient database architectures.
- Proficiency in data modeling, normalization, and schema design.
- Deep knowledge of performance tuning techniques for complex queries and large databases.
- Designing and implementing high availability solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and PostgreSQL replication.
- Developing comprehensive disaster recovery plans and conducting regular DR drills.
- Knowledge of data backup, recovery with native or third-party tools.
- Experience in deploying and managing databases on cloud platforms like OCI, GCP, AWS and Azure.
- Expertise in tools and techniques for seamless upgrades and migrations.
- Strong knowledge on SQL, PSQL, Python.
- Leading complex database migration projects, including cross-platform migrations.
- Expertise in tools and techniques for seamless upgrades and migrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex database challenges.
Nice to have:
- Any DBA/Cloud certifications as a plus
- Knowledge of Oracle Advanced Security and PostgreSQL's security extensions.
- Automating database deployment, management, and monitoring using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Communication skills in written & spoken French is a plus
- Project management is a plus.
