Summary: As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will design, build, test, and deploy cloud application solutions that seamlessly integrate both cloud and non-cloud infrastructure. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure the architecture's viability, security, and performance while also engaging in hands-on deployment of infrastructure and platform environments. You will be responsible for creating proofs of architecture to validate your designs and ensure they meet the required standards and specifications. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and manage robust data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS services (e.g., AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, Amazon Kinesis). - Perform data migration from on premises to AWS using AWS services (AWS DMS, AWS SCT etc) - Implement and maintain data models, schemas, and storage solutions to meet business intelligence and analytics needs. - Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows to ensure high performance, accuracy, and availability. - Develop and enforce data security and compliance measures in line with best practices and organizational policies. - Contribute to architecture decisions and provide recommendations for improving data infrastructure. - Document data processes, architectures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference. - Stay informed about AWS updates and emerging technologies to integrate new features and tools into our data solutions. Technical Requirements: - 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on AWS cloud services. - Proficiency with AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, and Amazon RDS. - Must have AWS Glue - Solid experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL). - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and automation. - Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes. - Understanding of data security practices and regulatory compliance requirements. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. - Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications: - AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect. - Experience with big data technologies like Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark. - Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Amazon QuickSight).15 years full time education
