Monday - Friday, variable hours based on position needs.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintains frequent contact with an active caseload of newly hired team members across multiple sites and conducts regular one-on-one sessions both in-person and virtually.
- Assists team members in creating employment plans and identifying barriers to employment goals. Motivates and guides team members in meeting the goals laid out in their employment plans.
- Maintains accurate and timely case documentation.
- Conducts assessments, establishes appropriate plans and initiates job coaching and wraparound support plans. Develops processes for assessment and coaching in partnership with Program Manager.
- Provides coaching support for team members in emergent or crisis situations and connects to internal or external resources.
- Provides education to team members on career growth and development, essential skills, educational assistance, post-secondary education, work-based learning and other career navigation services.
- Assesses need and allocates financial and wraparound support as needed (e.g., transportation, gift cards, child care) in partnership with Program Manager
- Partners with community-based organizations, workforce-investment boards, social service support agencies and other community resource providers to link team members with external supports.
- Assists in the execution of various workforce development programs, events and functions as required in partnership with the Workforce Development team.
- Connects team members to financial wellness, banking, tax and financial support entities
Education/Experience Required:
- Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Development, Human Resources, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling Social Work or Related Fields Experience: 3-5 Years workforce development, career counseling, employment coaching or social services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Prior experience working with populations that include youth, those with disabilities, returning citizens/justice involved or other high-barrier populations preferred Prior experience working as a job coach, job developer or with other direct support roles for job seekers preferred. Prior experience working with or for community based organizations, workforce investment boards or social service agencies is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Creative ability to engage high-barrier populations in workforce related training and coaching with the ability to navigate community resources. Ability to work independently, problem solve and make well-informed decisions High-level of proficiency and literacy using the Microsoft Office Suite, similar products and other technology solutions such as virtual meeting programs (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, GoTo Meeting) Ability to work effectively in diverse communities and work groups Ability to analyze and interpret data Prior knowledge of healthcare related careers and educational paths preferred Knowledge of WIOA and other publicly available funding preferred.
