This position is first shift, Monday-Friday. Our hours of operation are 7:00am-5:00pm. This is a remote position.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supervises and continuously evaluates the daily activities of the Pre-Service Support and Patient Coverage segments of the department to ensure department standards are met and department policies and procedures are followed. Identifies and coordinates staffing needs and priorities within the department.
- Develops and implements department-specific policies and procedures that guide and support service, assess and improve department effectiveness, and ensure competency in process are met.
- Collaborates with leaders of other Revenue Cycle and stakeholder teams on internal workflows impacting the Patient Coverage and Pre-Service Support teams.
- Gathers and analyzes metrics to benchmark department workload/performance and identifies trends and call trouble patterns, including reviewing of all reported problems, in order to recommend modifications to address recurring problems, add functionality, and improve operations. Works with other revenue cycle resources when appropriate.
- Coaches, trains, and leads Patient Coverage and Pre-Service Support team members with regards to department-specific functions and organizational changes or initiatives.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- High School Graduate.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 4 years of experience in revenue cycle (front end preferred) at a lead or senior level.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of revenue cycle processes and health care patient accounting practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and supervise team members performing patient-facing functions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement procedural and quality improvements within revenue cycle environments.
- General knowledge of business, finance, team member management, and operations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and external organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management. Ability to effectively address difficult and controversial issues.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with limited guidance or direction. Effective critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
