This position oversees locations of St. Lukes, West Allis, Sinai, South Shore, Mt. Pleasant, and Kenosha

Major Responsibilities:

  • Directs and oversees the operation and delivery of Environmental Services, Patient Transportation and Linen Distribution throughout Advocate Aurora Health ensuring operations are cost effective, drive optimal performance, and supports the achievement of the organization's objectives and mission.
  • Directs and oversees the operation and delivery of patient transportation services throughout Advocate Aurora Health ensuring operations as cost effective, drive optimal performance, and supports the achievement of the organization’s objectives and mission.
  • Develops, executes, and evaluates system-wide environmental service programs, policies, and procedures, and ensures adherence to best practice and standardization.
  • Collaborates with site administrators and Environmental Services leadership to identify opportunities to improve services, decrease costs, implement developed procedures, drive optimal performance, and perform human resources planning/retention across the system.
  • Responsible for the environmental service program's profit and loss, and ensures optimal controls and safeguards are in place throughout the organization. Determines opportunities and executes plans to cost effectively improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Undertakes and leads special assignments and projects on behalf of the Vice President that will financially benefit the organization.
  • Researches, selects, and ensures effective use of equipment, supplies, and technology at each site.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agency standards and guidelines for environmental services operations.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Hospitality Management.


Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 7 years of experience in environmental services. Includes 3 years of management experience in streamlining/standardizing practices and procedures to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Skills and experience in developing and executing environmental services policies, procedures, and practices within a health care system.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of effective best practice in environmental services operations and guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local waste management laws and regulations.
  • Skills and experience in establishing excellent working relationships with various leadership teams to determine and accomplish shared goals.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills including project management, process improvement, decision making, prioritization, delegation, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar products.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.

Pay Range

$53.80 - $80.70
