The internship will take place June 1st-August 7th 2026. This is an on-site role requiring travel across the IL footprint of Advocate Health Care and the WI footprint of Aurora Health Care. Interns will be scheduled to work 30-40 hours Mon-Fri business hours.

Pay Range

$23.00 - $23.00

The Administrative Internship provides practical work experiences to graduate students pursuing an accredited Healthcare Administration degree. The intern may be assigned to various site and system Administration departments, HR, Finance or Operations through Advocate Health. The intern will have access to a wide variety of system areas to obtain first-hand knowledge, operational, and strategy experience. The intern is responsible for seeking out specific and substantial studies and projects across the system. These functions support the alignment of business objectives with team members and management in designated business units. The department will further develop specific job standards and guidelines for the internship role.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Intern will help manage diverse portfolio of healthcare projects and is expected to make meaningful contributions to the progress and work product of these initiatives and meet project sponsor’s needs. Becomes
  • part of the work unit team to carry out assigned work within the rotation. Identifies and uses internal and external support resources to accomplish work goals. Offers information and perspectives regarding current trends and issues to stimulate new ideas and thinking.
  • Administrative intern will help build a broad range of healthcare management skills. Works effectively with physicians, administrative colleagues and allied health staff to promote the team concept of medicine at Advocate Aurora. Directs or leads the work of others in a work group or task force. Contributes to committee work that is related to assignments.
  • Administrative intern will help describe and integrate the functions and relationships of the following in support of Advocate Health's vision: practice, education and research; inpatient and outpatient settings; physicians, administrators and other allied health staff; hiring, training, retaining and terminating employees; costs, charges, revenue, providers and payors.
  • Administrative intern will seek ways to continuously improve processes and outcomes and provide exceptional patient care. Administrative intern will study and apply improvement methodologies including data collection and analysis, group facilitation and implementation strategies.
  • Administrative Intern will meet with the leadership on a regular basis to discuss fellowship and to report on progress of current projects.
  • Administrative intern will participate in the system’s strategic planning process.
  • Administrative intern will assist in development of other programs and services as assigned.
  • Administrative intern will assist in managing databases and inputs information, data, and records.
  • Administrative intern will participate in the development of programs, processes or applications.
  • Administrative intern will assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain presentations.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s and currently enrolled in a graduate level Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration; or Master’s Degree in Business with a focus in healthcare from an accredited college or university.

Experience Required:

  • No experience required.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Current enrollment with graduate level status at a regional accredited college or university. Interns are expected to be in the process of obtaining a graduate degree.
  • Grade point average of at least 2.5.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
