Strategic, timely and relevant communication is a vital component of how we meet our partnership commitments to our business unit partners and to each other in Operations. You will work within Baird’s Operations team to help create, coordinate and execute “external” communications to our field partners to keep them informed and prepared to serve our clients, while also coordinating internal trainings and communication to our own internal associates to keep them engaged, informed and ready to provide the best service to our partners.

This role helps to plan and ensure the most effective flow of information and determine the best methods for communicating key messages, working closing with our Private Wealth Management (PWM) Communications Team, our Operations Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other internal partners. You must have a passion for writing, strong organizational skills, enjoy teamwork and excel in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

As a Sr. Operations Communications Specialist, you will:

  • Partner with subject matter experts to write, edit and/or review messaging, reference materials and other content ensuring it is clear, relevant, timely and meaningful to the audience – whether that be our branches, our Ops associates, or our end clients.
  • Liaise with PWM Communications team to coordinate, strategically plan for and execute on branch-facing communications and trainings.
  • Lead, coordinate and prepare for regular Operations Communications Review meetings and related communications calendar. Work with attendees to review priorities, identify consolidation opportunities, and coordinate ongoing messaging with the needed teams.
  • Work across a wide variety of teams to understand and help coordinate communication needs to our partners and our internal Operations teams.
  • Coordinate the ongoing development of, and updates to, our “Branch Travel Deck” to ensure our Operations Leadership Team are reinforcing key, critical messaging during branch visits.
  • Work with BairdWeb Subject Matter Experts to ensure their content remains applicable, accurate and consumable for their intended audience.
  • Identify and recommend communication strategies to reinforce our Operations Partnership Commitments (OPCs), celebrate/recognize OPC wins, inform manager best practices and Ops associate development.
  • Partner with PWM Communications and Productivity & Development Teams to ensure related branch resources and training guides are consistent, relevant, accurate and meaningful.
  • Serve as owner and coordinator of various Operations-wide references including Ops - Contacts, Teams and Resource page; Quick Links Contacts database and Operations Sharepoint site.
  • Partner with Director of Branch Experience to regularly review measurement data to uncover opportunities for increased partnership.
  • Work with Operations leaders and Concourse teams to help coordinate the consistent onboarding and training of new Operations associates by ensuring the relevance and use of our OPC, Client Service Training and other critical onboarding materials.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Marketing or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years’ of experience in a related field, preferably in a financial or professional services environment.
  • Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills including planning, content development, editing and proofing.
  • Proven ability to drive self and others to achieve specific results.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maturity and poise to work effectively with associates at all levels of the firm, including senior leadership.
