Job Title: AWS Solutions Architect

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect with deep expertise in API centric microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role is instrumental in driving our backend systems architecture, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate combines technical leadership, hands on capability, and a forward-thinking approach to designing cloud native systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the design of scalable, secure microservices and APIs for our cloud platform.
- Own the Kubernetes-based deployment strategy across environments (EKS or self-managed clusters).
- Guide engineering teams on cloud-native best practices, CI/CD processes, and system observability.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into scalable system designs.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, code quality, and system documentation.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and cloud services to support system performance and reliability.
- Drive cross-functional architectural initiatives, including data flows, authentication/authorization, and system integrations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3+ years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Expertise in Kubernetes and orchestration of containerized services in production.
- Strong experience in AWS cloud services (e.g., EKS, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM).
- Proven track record designing and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Deep understanding of networking, security, scalability, and fault tolerance in cloud environments.
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and observability tooling.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Solr, Elasticsearch, or other search/indexing platforms.
- Experience working with Ruby or Ruby on Rails-based systems.
- Background in healthcare technologies, including knowledge of compliance standards such as HIPAA, HL7, or FHIR.
- Experience with event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, SNS/SQS)
