The Executive Director of Therapy and Developmental Services leads and is responsible for the operations of therapy clinics and other services for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Serves as a key member of the team to develop and lead the improvement agenda of therapy operations for the Hospital and leader of integrating the therapy care model across the System. Through partnerships and teams within the System and Children’s Specialty Group assures an excellent service experience for patients/families and referring physicians and that quality care is provided in a safe, convenient, timely and efficient manner to patients.

This senior level position requires a strong understanding of health care delivery, including strategy, business planning, operations, workforce challenges, and financial conditions. The executive director will lead or participates in strategic projects, which are complex and involve creation and oversight of multifaceted teams within and external to CW. This role will often be representing the mission, vision and values of Children’s Wisconsin in identification, analysis and development with others.

The role reports to the Vice President, Ambulatory Services and collaborates closely with the ACMO and therapy Medical Directors. Establishing key partnerships with physicians and administrative colleagues within and outside the health system is an expectation.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Healthcare Administration, Business, Project Management, Quality Management or similar field.
  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in ambulatory care management. Clinical experience valuable.
  • At least ten years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop diverse relationships, as exposure and connections will be with diverse constituencies internal and external to Children’s Wisconsin.
  • Possesses negotiating capabilities to interact effectively with all constituencies, and has independent judgment necessary to make and facilitate decisions with internal and external parties.
  • Has consulting, advising and analytical abilities to develop plans, facilitate creative solutions, interpret information, develop and align key stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and fiscal abilities in order to administer complex budgets, short/long range goals, and to assure fiscal responsibility are considered in decisions.
  • Has ability to balance and align strategic and operational objectives to develop short and long term prioritization.
  • Expert communication abilities able to relate to all audiences in order to create clarity, foster relationships, and present information with brevity and accuracy.
