Provides whole child behavioral health educational support services to Children's Wisconsin staff, through training and direct care consultation/coaching within the hospital, emergency, and ambulatory care settings.

Serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary integrated care team, which includes mental health providers, medical providers, nursing staff, social workers, security, and case managers, among others.

The unique focus of this role is to support the system-wide roll out of the Marcus Crisis Prevention System (MCPP) as a member of the core trainer team delivering content, hands on practice, and monitoring fidelity.

Other duties include supporting staff education as well as monitoring for fidelity by providing observation, Behavioral Assessment Team direct service work, and coaching staff as needed.

• Requires 2 years related work experience in behavioral health to include: Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or inpatient or residential treatment.
• Strongly prefers a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field. Requires a High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
• Requires ability to complete formal training in Trauma Informed Care Initiatives.
• Requires ability to move quickly and engage in concentrated periods of physical activity and movement on a regular basis.

• Prefers experience working with children and families; diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and trauma history.

• Experience charting in and working with Electronic Health Record preferred.
• MCPP Trainer certification required within 6 months of hire
• Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.
• Able to communicate behavioral concepts clearly to others who may not have behavioral knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfort, skill and active interest in teaching and coaching others
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite platforms
• Adaptable to complex situations and responsive in a crisis situation
• Understands the medical population-developmental stages and chronic health conditions.
• Able to learn about medical complexities and able to collaborate with medical teams by discussing patient behavioral interventions utilized for patient care.
• Able to provide direct behavioral support to behavioral needs of patients.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, chemotherapy agents, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
Employees may:
Encounter distressing patient stories/traumas that require trainer resilience.
Need to crawl on floor or engage in play-type activities with children in therapy.
Need to verbally de-escalate upset children, adolescents, or adults.
Need to adapt approaches or communication styles to fit the needs of the treatment setting and patient population.
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Travel between Children's Wisconsin locations may be required.
