Job Summary:
Schedules appointments from incoming phone calls in high volume call center format. Processes all necessary registration information and educate patient families of their financial obligations.
Essential Functions
Schedules appointments via incoming telephone calls per Central Scheduling protocols and facilitate intake process for appropriate triage utilizing CHW technology.
Provide pre-registration support for scheduled services per department guidelines.
Discusses potential financial obligations with parent.
Educates parent guardian or patient on managed care process and required authorization needed per CHW policies and managed care contractors.
Updates insurance information for accuracy and verifies current/ future eligibility
Place outbound calls to patient families to schedule and register appointment via work lists found in work queues.
Education:
High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
Experience:
1+ years Customer service experience required
Experience in registration and/or scheduling preferred
Epic experience preferred
Call center experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to serve a variety of people in a fast paced call center environment
Ability to make decisions based on established clinic protocols preferred.
Excellent organization and prioritizing skills necessary to work in a fast paced multi-functioned department preferred.
Proficient data entry skills with accuracy and speed
