Our Clinical Education Specialist will manage the implementation of a new digital competency management system for the organization. As part of this you will also, consultant and partner with stakeholders to produce learning solutions that represent evidence based best practice in education and health literacy. Partners include practice leaders and educators across inpatient, specialty and primary/urgent care and community services. You will also lead and/or support centralized clinical programs (ex. Orientation, Life Support, Patient/Family Education, Continuing Education, Simulation). As well as, lead and/or support creation of performance support deliverables for changes in or new clinical practice, process, product and/or technology initiatives to improve the quality, safety and/or efficiency of health system services. In addition, you will do program evaluation and environmental scanning for gaps in training and support that can be developed in to solutions.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Current license to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin.

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice and 3-5 years of clinical experience.

  • Professional level of expertise in adult education and instructional design acquired through 2-3 years of educational experience and/or continuing education in adult learning principles.

  • Require a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider certification at time of hire and attain AHA Basic Life Support instructor status within 6 months of hire.

  • Prefer a national nursing board certification or subsequent attainment when eligible per certification criteria; recommend Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) Board Certification

  • Experience in a pediatric healthcare environment preferred.

  • Strong project management skills including collaborate with subject matter expert/project owner including managing the team, plan, scheduled, and delegate as needed to develop and deliver outcomes/deliverables on time; these skills apply to multiple projects simultaneously, including the ability to re-scale solutions as scope and/or timelines change.

  • Ability to use existing deliverable templates (ie. Teaching sheets, Just in Time documents) and organization and department workflows to support new and existing projects and maintenance of existing job support and training resources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening and analytical skills necessary to interact with internal and external customers.

  • Understanding of and ability to apply change management principles to project setup and implementation.

  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of products (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Willingness to learn and use online learning development software and performance support tools. Understanding of digital materials and how digital resources can be used to support training in healthcare

  • Experience to independently apply all parts of an ISD methodology to clinically focused training requests (e.g. ADDIE - Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).
