The person in this role will demonstrate expertise in the delivery of direct Orthopedic care to children and their families. You will partner with the healthcare team and assess, prioritize and provide care to clinic patient population. Meets specific requirements, goals, and competencies established within the Orthopedic clinic.
Location: Onsite - Greenfield Clinic (3365 S. 103rd Street, Greenfield, WI 53227)
Hours: Part time - 20 hours per week
Education:
High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) Required
Required:
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross within 90 Days of employment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preferred:
Certification as a Medical Assistant
Certification as an Orthopedic Technician
Knowledge of orthopedic surgery instruments, orthopedic casting techniques, application of braces, normally acquired through a minimum of one year related experience.
Experience in a pediatric setting.
Additional Responsibilities:
Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, patients, parents and staff.
Requires flexibility of time and duties in order to work in a fast paced environment.
Familiarity with personal computer operations and functions.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, providers, staff, and leadership.
Good analytical ability to observe and communicate problems as they arise.
Must be able to transfer and ambulate patients, lift orthopedic devices, stand for long periods of time and lift objects up to 75 pounds.
Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reaches, and squats.
Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work.
Promotes courteous behavior as outlines in the department's guest relations' guidelines.
