Job Summary
Serves as an accredited educator for the assigned programs at Children's Wisconsin (CW). This position will plan, schedule and facilitate internal and external training for intended audience. Leads and supports best practice principles in education and service delivery for the workforce of CW, and caregivers with children 0-12 years old and teens. Provides education within various community locations, CW workspaces, and virtually.
Essential Functions
Facilitates educational workshops, seminars and groups to support, educate and train Children’s Wisconsin staff and caregivers in designated program. In addition, works one on one with caregivers and professionals to implement programming.
Assesses the needs of providers, caregivers and Children’s staff and mentors and supports them as needed in the program. Refers individuals to services in the community to address needs that are outside of the program.
Assists with developing the training curriculum and the trainers throughout the system by providing technical assistance and co-training.
Collects information, maintains accurate records of activities and attendance and completes necessary paperwork and data entry for the program.
Seeks out innovative and promising practices to support program outcomes and quality improvement.
Maintains fidelity to the program models.
In collaboration with the Program Coordinator and Manager, supports coordination of internal and external activities related to programming, implementation, partnerships and logistics. Builds internal and external partnerships and seeks opportunities for program development and expansion.
May assist with grant writing and program development activities.
Education:
Associate's Degree in social work, child development, education or related field required
Bachelor's Degree in social work, child development, education or related field preferred
Experience:
2+ years of experience in social work, child development or education required
Experience facilitating education programs and working one on one with families required
Experience with training, group facilitation, and developing and implementing educational programs with adults or across systems preferred
Experience working with families and professionals of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of, or experience with, diversity and inclusion, trauma informed care or resilience principles.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize with attention to detail.
Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with professionals, parents and system or community members.
Ability to work both independently and in conjunction with a team.
Computer skills to perform necessary functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Comfortable with different forms of technology to aid in delivering educational material across the community
Data collection, entry and time management skills required
Licenses and Certifications:
License Driver's License - State of Wisconsin required
