Job Summary Manages the activities and operations of Children's Dental Centers, supervises clinic personnel while assuring services are in compliance with the Joint Commission, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, OSHA and State accreditation standards. Acts as liaison between the Dental Center and other internal and external care providers seeking dental services for their patients. Markets and promotes Children's Dental Centers. Participates in community based committees as an advocate for pediatric oral health initiatives. Essential Functions - Coordinates program development activities with all key members of the service. This includes program planning and development of department goals and objectives that address clinic and quality performance, financial performance and market performance. - Leads department personnel, in collaboration with appropriate medical, nursing, ancillary and administrative staff, in planning for and providing quality and consistent patient care. - Assures necessary systems, supplies, equipment, space and procedures are in place for efficient patient flow and other patient care functions. - Acts as liaison between Ambulatory Services and other services (e.g., Admitting, Scheduling & Registration, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Laboratory, Radiology) involved in delivering care in assigned clinics. - Manages the activities of department staff, including recruitment, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training, competencies, and orientation. Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings and communicates pertinent information. Takes corrective action in accordance with CHS policies and procedures in a timely manner. - Formulates and monitors department policies and procedures. Recommends, develops and implements changes to systems, policies and procedures needed to improve the operations of the department. - Develops and monitors and adheres to department budgets in collaboration with department director and medical director(s). Anticipates and explains variances in a timely manner. Leads development of capital budget, incorporating feedback from medical and clinic stakeholders. - Reviews and analyzes program statistics, such as patient satisfaction or scheduling data. Uses results to expand services and improve program efficiency and customer service. Distributes data to appropriate stakeholders. - Ensures assigned clinic areas are in compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. - Tours all clinic locations on a regular basis to achieve continuity and consistency of information, performance, productivity and communication amongst all clinic sites. - Performs people management responsibilities for employees which may include but are not limited to: employee engagement, recruitment, performance management and development Legacy Essential Functions - Reviews and responds to patient satisfaction data. Partners with patients, families, physicians and community to assess and develop action plans to meet consumer needs. - Participates in appropriate self-developmental and educational programs and communicates with peers to keep appraised of health system activities. People Management Responsibility - Performs people management responsibilities for employees which may include but are not limited to: employee engagement, recruitment, performance management and development Education: - Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience: - 2+ years leadership experience, specifically in the areas of problem solving, decision making and prioritization Required - 2+ years experience working in the field of Oral Health which includes at least 1 year of leadership experience Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrated ability to rapidly make assessments of critical and/or potentially ambiguous situations and develop logical interventions. - Ability to think conceptually and translate broad organizational issues to the daily operational level. - Requires advanced analytical and decision making skills necessary to resolve employee and operational problems and assist in the development of departmental budgets. - Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, clinic/hospital staff and community. Licenses and Certifications: - License Dental Hygienist (16) - State of Wisconsin preferred Patient Care Responsibility - Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures.
