Job Summary:
Responsible for bidding, negotiating, procuring and coordinating approved capital equipment for construction and renovation projects. This includes, but is not limited to, medical equipment, furnishings, furniture and equipment (FFE) and construction equipment. Ensures delivery and installation is in alignment with construction project schedules and customer needs. Arranges equipment storage, delivery, check-in and setup. Provides project cost accounting through the utilization of approved software systems. In partnership with Supply Chain, develops and coordinates the health system's standardized equipment list. Participates in project planning meetings with architects, project managers and suppliers. Responsible for staying up to date with emerging technology and building strong working relationships with our suppliers. Evaluates condition of existing equipment and makes repair or replace recommendations, as needed. Assists with the annual capital allocation and assembly of budgets associated with medical equipment needs. Acts as a liaison between Enterprise Facility Services and Supply Chain. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of five years of related experience is required. Experience in Healthcare Supply Chain is highly recommended. Experience in Planning, Design & Construction is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelor's Degree is required. Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted for formal education.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Knowledge of Medical Equipment Software systems is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) contracting in a healthcare environment. Solid skills in data analysis. Experience interpreting large data sets and integrating, manipulating and reporting out on analyses. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and perform in high stress situations with a heavy workload. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively interact with employees, nurses, physicians, and other consumers of supply and equipment systems. Has baseline knowledge of how capital and construction projects are implemented.
