Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Product development activities across functions to define, design, and implement new product features and program improvements.
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand and define design from high-level architecture, through technology selection and evaluation.
  • Develop Maternal Infant Care Solutions and Patient Care Solutions product systems feature and clinical application development projects including technical risk retirement, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with different disciplines and cross functions including engineering platform teams, user experience, quality, regulatory, marketing, manufacturing, product management, research teams, and customers.
  • Responsible for delivery of technical content and quality management deliverables.
  • Collaborate with design teams on design control process, including requirements flow down, system design, design analysis, risk analysis, integration and test, verification and validation, manufacturing to ensure products meet user needs and system requirements.
  • Proactively address potential defect areas in complex systems and ensure compatibility between subsystems and dependent systems
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand and manage technical program risks, design tradeoffs, and track technical program outcomes through established metrics.
  • Implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance to quality practices and medical device standards for design and development.
  • Research new tools and technologies to keep our products on the cutting edge.


Qualifications & Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in “STEM” Major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering work experience in a related field
  • Willing to come on site a minimum of 3 days a week and work directly with our development team located in Waukesha, Wisconsin
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to collaborate with global team members
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Skills - Technical:

  • Masters degree in a STEM Major
  • 1+ years of work experience as a Systems Engineer in a software or product development team
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with other engineers by proactively sharing technical information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
  • Experience with requirements generation, reliability planning and demonstration, failure mode analysis, SDLC and standards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of software system design concepts and subsystem interactions and interfaces.
  • Experience with successful problem definition, technical decomposition, and project estimation.
  • Familiarity with Medical Device Software Design Principals, requirements for meeting various country regulatory clearances, and healthcare industry dynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality and regulatory compliance processes.
