As a Lead Electrical Engineer – Digital Electronics, you will play a key role in shaping advanced digital hardware platforms—spanning FPGA, HDL, SoC, and other foundational digital technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to innovate with purpose, collaborate with diverse global teams, and contribute to both new product introductions and continuous improvement of existing products. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are excited to grow, lead, and make meaningful technical impact.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design and enhance digital electronic circuit boards and components, including FPGAs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, SoCs, and related technologies.
  • Develop VHDL/HDL code for FPGAbased designs, including simulation, testbench creation, and handson debugging.
  • Lead digital design activities using established engineering methods and modern tools.
  • Perform digital simulations and validate architectural concepts.
  • Capture schematics using GEHC ECAD tools and provide oversight and approval for PCB layout.
  • Guide PWA board bringup and lead systemlevel hardware integration.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, applying your technical expertise to influence design direction and ensure highquality execution.
  • Address design issues, component obsolescence, supplier changes, and supply chain requests.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications and documentation supporting design implementation and product introduction.
  • Define, execute, and review component verification, reliability growth plans, and design validations.
  • Lead and participate in technical design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities.
  • Partner with internal teams—Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and others—to align on program requirements and technical goals.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to develop prototypes and manage prototype build logistics.
  • Create innovative hardware solutions that meet performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of handson experience in FPGA design (VHDL) and digital design.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture (Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Altium) and experience overseeing mixedsignal PCB layout.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within crossfunctional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

(These are helpful but not required. If you meet the required qualifications and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply.)

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with IEC606011 or equivalent safety standards in regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of UL, ETL, and IEC standards relevant to electronic designs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative or novel technical solutions.
  • Experience with EMCcompliant design practices.
  • DFSS or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in medical device development or support (e.g., CT, PET, XRay, or GEHC products).
  • Familiarity with ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lead and contribute in global, crossfunctional environments.
  • Highly motivated selfstarter with a commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence.
