As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to the evolution of a mission‑critical MRI software platform built on a modern, microservices‑based architecture that supports the next generation of intelligent, connected MR workflows.This role supports SIGNA™ One, our AI‑driven workflow platform designed to simplify MRI from planning and setup through scanning and beyond. SIGNA One delivers fast scans, effortless setup, and high clinical confidence through intelligent automation and a patient‑first experience.
In this role, you will focus on designing, implementing, and improving software solutions across the stack. You will own defined components or feature areas, write production‑ready code, and contribute to design discussions and code reviews. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will help deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions that meet both product and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Define the scope of work, provide development estimates, and support estimates with clear technical rationale
Participate in and contribute to technical discussions and designs, effectively presenting ideas through whiteboarding and documentation
Make informed technology decisions through due diligence and impact analysis
Develop deep expertise in assigned components while understanding the overall product architecture and module interdependencies
Design and define interfaces and information exchange between modules
Advocate for scalable designs and improved quality through effective testing strategies
Drive design reviews and apply appropriate technologies to software designs
Evaluate and optimize application performance through sound design and coding practices
Provide technical leadership by defining, developing, and evolving software in an Agile development environment
Partner with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements and vision
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, or another STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience
Frontend development experience using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience developing software on Windows and Unix/Linux‑based systems
Proficiency with Java/JEE, Spring Boot/Spring, and Swagger/OpenAPI
Experience with development and CI/CD tools including BDD/Cucumber, Git, Artifactory, Gradle/Maven, Docker, and Jenkins
Desired Characteristics
Strong knowledge of object‑oriented analysis and design, software design patterns, and Java coding principles
Hands‑on experience developing web services (REST, SOAP, WSDL)
Experience working with microservices‑based architectures
Experience contributing to Scrum teams in an Agile environment
Experience in the medical device field or other highly regulated development environments where quality is critical
Demonstrates strong problem‑solving and business acumen, with the ability to translate technical concepts into solutions that address customer and business needs
Brings clarity in ambiguous situations, influences outcomes through collaboration, and proactively removes obstacles to drive successful delivery
