Job Description Summary

Lead Electrical Engineer – Design to Value (DtV), Magnetic Resonance (MR)

Help improve the affordability and reliability of Magnetic Resonance (MR) systems—so more patients can access high‑quality imaging when it matters most.

In this Lead Electrical Engineer – Design to Value (DtV) role, you will analyze and design electronic hardware used within MR systems to reduce cost and improve reliability, while maintaining high performance and quality. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and supply chain partners across multiple subsystems, giving you meaningful exposure to a wide range of technologies and an excellent opportunity to deepen your technical breadth.

You’ll apply your experience in component specification analysis, analog and mixed‑signal circuit design, power supply design, and circuit board development to deliver design and architecture updates. Your work will introduce new components and technologies into subsystems and help implement platform updates and best practices.

Work Location: Hybrid / On site (3–5 days per week in office)
Sponsorship: Sponsorship will not be considered for this role. No OPTs or Visas of any type.

Job Description

What you will do (Essential Responsibilities)

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Own schematic capture and partner with layout teams to support printed circuit board (PCB) layout for boards that may include:
small‑signal radio frequency (RF) circuits, high‑fidelity analog‑to‑digital/digital‑to‑analog converters (ADCs/DACs), phase‑locked loops (PLLs), FPGAs/processors, high‑speed interfaces, industry‑standard digital interfaces, and power supplies.
  • Propose, analyze, and scope design updates and projects aligned with reducing cost (for example, reduced bill of materials (BOM) cost, reliability improvements, supplier changes, or other approaches).
  • Prioritize projects using return on investment (ROI), cost savings, and strategic benefit metrics.
  • Write clear, detailed functional specifications that document new designs and support product introduction.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (for example: FPGA, firmware, systems) to scope, review, and support design updates, and work with related subsystems (for example: transmit/receive coil design, power, cooling) to manage interactions.
  • Lead technical investigations to reduce risk on design updates and ensure high‑quality outcomes.
  • Test and verify hardware to confirm it meets specifications and requirements through bench testing, system integration testing, reliability testing, and related methods.
  • Stay current with industry developments and interfaces by continually building your knowledge and skills.

What we’re looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of design experience.
  • Experience with analog and mixed‑signal simulation and design workflows, including hardware evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and bringing up circuit board designs, including schematic capture, layout partnership, and board troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
  • Experience using typical electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and related tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of design experience.
  • Experience working with electronics manufacturing firms and processes.
  • Experience developing project plans and estimates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with design for reliability and manufacturability.
  • Proficiency with electrical design tools such as ADS, Cadence, PSpice, or similar.
  • A track record of taking initiative, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)‑compatible design/solutions.

Our team & how we work

You’ll work alongside technical and supply chain experts across subsystems. We value collaboration, practical problem‑solving, and continuous learning—so you’ll have support from peers and partners as you deliver design updates that make a measurable difference.

Encouragement to apply: We know great engineers come from many backgrounds and career paths. If you’re excited about the impact of this role and meet the required qualifications, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t match every preferred qualification.
