Job Description Summary

Responsible for leading sourcing activities for key categories of ISS X-Ray Generation portfolio. This will include managing 25+ global suppliers with a spend of $50M.
Will be expected to establish supplier strategies, perform supplier negotiations including price discussions and establish supply contracts.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for supporting supplier discussions, selection and other sourcing activities for select Product Management & NPI (new product introduction) programs.

This position will regularly work across functions and at all levels within the Organization. Must have strong negotiation skills and be focused on delivering on Global Supply Chain Core Value proposition of Spend Value, Efficiency, De-Risking of the end to end supply chain and delivery to Customer.


Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develops, plans, organizes, and implements national/regional contracting and procurement strategies and programs to increase operational efficiency and profitability
  • Understand key supply markets and use this knowledge and experience to lead and execute the sourcing process to deliver best value for ISS X-Ray Generation
  • Deploy specific procurement process knowledge and expertise to lead the analysis of supplier proposals (using appropriate tools and technology) to ensure best value for spend allocation decisions that are made regarding supplier selection and contract award
  • Lead negotiation of commercial and contractual terms (with appropriate legal support) with suppliers to ensure that GEHC's commercial and contractual risk is managed appropriately
  • Build strong relationships with Strategic Suppliers, driving early supplier engagement into GE’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and long-term partnership for wing-to-wing product lifecycle
  • Influence and manage key, strategic supplier relationships to ensure that supplier performance and value is maintained and delivered throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Delivers management information, reporting, insight and analytics on supplier cost and performance
  • Provide guidance and contribution on policy and process continuous improvement of the procurement function across the division
  • Provide sourcing/supplier support to the local operations/materials teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business administration with proven experience in commercial (sourcing, sales), supply chain or relevant qualification (eg. APICS/CIPS) or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a complex procurement and supply chain environment
  • Strength in negotiating and executing commercial contracts
  • Strong business acumen and capacity to understand complex market dynamics (supplier/partner/customer relationships)
  • Fast learner: ability to learn enough of a complex industry and products to interact with highly technical experts, commercially knowledgeable stakeholders; and lead discussions, negotiations to close
  • Inclusiveness: ability to partner, support and be included and influence plant decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact and partner with all levels of management in the company
  • Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within an organization
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a strong focus on data-driven decision making
  • Cross-functional experience and experience working across cultures, teams and time zones with ability to handle multiple tasks in compressed timeframes
  • Proven project management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver results on time
  • Willing to travel locally & internationally up to 15% of time
