Job Overview

The Pricing Analyst Role at Komatsu Mining interfaces with various personnel from all areas within the organization - Marketing, Service Support, Warehouses, Sales Offices, Managers, and Senior Management. This Role requires diplomatic professionalism as well as a firm understanding of the importance of timely issue resolution and sense of urgency. The Pricing Analyst will Impact sales and price realization for surface aftermarket parts with an annual plan in excess of $1.1B and Support the pricing and contractual strategies for 500,000 active part numbers in SAP.

Percentage of Travel: 5-10% Occasional travel to regions to support pricing initiatives/reviews is possible.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in driving the corporate pricing strategy and improvement initiatives, through in-depth qualitative/quantitative analysis. Scope, Develop and Lead parts pricing analytic projects.
  • Lead activities related to achieving annual price realization and performance targets.
  • Support the generation, review, maintenance, analysis and distribution of global parts prices and pricing policies.
  • Pursue enhancements working with regions, aftermarket parts product marketing and sales to maintain appropriate market and DNET pricing by product to influence market share growth, value pricing and value selling.
  • Lead cross-functional teams driving process improvements. Conduct on-going reviews and evaluation of the pricing process to identify improvements and areas for standardization and automation. Develop and lead analysis to deliver process enhancements for the Surface business.
  • Generate and maintain reporting dashboard to capture price performance, price leakage, and sales analysis. Assist cross-functional teams with ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Manage and maintain established pricing reports to track and communicate performance. Build pricing models for promotional strategies in support of targeted objectives.
  • Develop performance metrics and reports for executive management, product marketing, sales, commercial and pricing teams. Monitor gross margin percentages by part number. Investigate and resolve problem margins within SAP.
  • Integral participant with internal and external audit requests. Develop audit routines to test price data within SAP, identify issues and draft recommendations to resolve.
  • Maintain good communications between Marketing, Regions, Cost Accounting, Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, etc.; viewed as SME and trusted partner for all pricing topics.
  • Work with Commercial and aftermarket product marketing recommending analytic and strategic solutions on New Product Development (NPD) and existing parts pricing.
  • Partner with Tax and Finance to ensure corporate transfer price and exchange rate policies are applied correctly and consistently.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Business, Economics, Statistics, Accounting and/or Finance preferred); or similar relevant experience
  • 3+ years of business experience in a pricing function or similar experience preferred
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to work across department lines to influence and get results
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office. Previous experience with analytical software beneficial. Intermediate Excel skills, display ability to learn software
  • Must possess solid analytical and critical thinking skills, along with strong strategic, pricing and business acumen. Detail-oriented and strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Understanding of the mining equipment industry and competitive market pressures is a plus
  • Willingness to travel throughout the regions and comfortable interacting with regions and customers of different cultures
