Senior M365 Cybersecurity Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer with a background in Security Controls for new technologies in the SaaS and artificial intelligence space to ensure not only the availability and accessibility of useful data is provided to our customers, but equally important, is protected for our customers. This role will utilize your expertise and experience to swiftly deliver enterprise impacting security solutions through dynamic and collaborative partnerships across IT.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead analysis, design, engineer, implement and support SaaS security solutions for new and existing environments; significant focus will be on the M365 suite of productivity and artificial intelligence offerings
- Design and develop processes to address security configuration gaps with an eye towards continuous improvement and automated secure-by-default guardrails
- Develop and optimize security policies and procedures related to M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams, to mitigate risks and enhance security posture
- Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities related to AI-powered tools like Microsoft Copilot, applying insights to proactively enhance security measures
- Act as a technical advisor and subject matter expert to internal cybersecurity teammates and external stakeholders and partners
- Maintain a superior knowledge of capabilities and applicable vendor product offerings in the subject domains
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, software engineering, computer science, systems engineering or cybersecurity or equivalent professional experience and/or training
- 5- 8 years of experience in information technology with more than just a familiarity in cybersecurity
- Experience in applying security measures specific to AI and machine learning models, ensuring data integrity and privacy within AI-driven applications like Microsoft Copilot
- Solid knowledge of collaboration security solutions (Microsoft Purview, email security filtering tools, CASB, etc.) and SaaS Secure Configuration Management. Note: All of these domains are not required, but applicants should understand the breadth of the team's responsibilities (and should be motivated by that).
- Experience in multiple platforms and environments - Windows, Mac, & Linux, workstation &server, physical, virtual, & cloud
- Working knowledge of Security Frameworks (NIST, MITRE, CIS Benchmarks, etc.) with preference towards practical application at the operations and engineering level
- Understanding of a wide range of cybersecurity capabilities including security engineering, identify & access management, incident response, logging & monitoring, penetration testing, supply chain security, and vulnerability management
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
