Job Description

This role is an external customer-facing role working with a team of Rockwell engineers as well as internal support staff to create and issue proposals per the RFQ requirements and Rockwell Automation policies. As a Sr. Proposal Administrator, for your portfolio of customers, you will be responsible for supporting the acknowledgment of formal RFQs, proposal generation, costing/pricing, product availability/lead times, and obtaining appropriate approvals prior to issuance. You may be the primary contact to the customer during the proposal phase. You will work with the sales, marketing and delivery teams to lead the proposal process.

You will report to the Contracts Manager, Specialty Products & Contracts, Government Business Division. This is a hybrid role, based in either our Mayfield Heights, Ohio or Milwaukee HQ.

What you will do

  • Work directly with customers and with sales and business management resources to qualify new opportunities.
  • Generate proposal documents using standard templates and processes.
  • Develop accurate proposal estimates using standard tools and procedures.
  • Supports coordination of inputs to the proposal process from various internal and external sources.
  • Responsible for following all company DOA policies and procedures.
  • Support the preparation of internal review documents.
  • Use creative approaches to deliver value to both customers and the company.
  • Understand the RA product landscape to obtain product information regarding product availability, lead time, cost and sell price.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to increase quality, speed and cost productivity.
  • Identify appropriate levels of resources required for opportunity pursuit and proposal development, and work with business managers to secure those resources at the appropriate time.

Skills you have

  • Strong commitment to excellence in every aspect of the business with an uncompromising stance on ethics and transparency both internally and externally.
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software tools
  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to work in a team setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work within a technical team environment, and support a geographically dispersed engineering and project delivery organization making use of collaboration tools.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, models and processes introduced to support evolving business needs and productivity.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with customers, RA and third-party resources involved in the proposal process.

The Essentials - You will have;

  • The ability to travel < 10% travel
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to U.S. Government customer requirements.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • High school diploma or GED.

The Preferred - You may also have;

  • Typically requires 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems (preferably IFS & SAP)
  • Strong communication and change management skills
