Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect to join our dynamic IT Claims team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex insurance solutions that enhance our Claims business capabilities and customer experiences. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and a passion for driving innovation in the insurance sector.

*Potentially open to remote candidates- Preference is hybrid Madison or West Bend, WI*

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their strategic vision and product roadmaps to enable alignment with IT technology roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their solution requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable, and secure IT solutions.
  • Design and architect end-to-end solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and support the company’s strategic goals.
  • Lead the development of solution blueprints, technical specifications, and architecture documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the company’s architecture and business processes.
  • Work closely with delivery managers to ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and provide recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
  • Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior architects and other technical staff.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT architecture and solution design, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of technologies including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices, APIs, databases, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience with modern development methodologies such as Agile and DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge in the emergent technologies of machine learning and AI
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and coach junior architects and other technical staff.
  • Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter and Azure cloud architecture is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
