Job Summary
As an Associate Actuary involved with Commercial Auto and General Liability pricing, you'll help play a pivotal role in driving profitability and strategic decision-making for our book of business.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Monitor and Optimize Profitability: Analyze portfolio performance, identify trends and opportunities to enhance profitability in Commercial Auto and General Liability. Provide actionable insights to guide underwriting, pricing, and product development strategies.
· Partner with Analytics: Collaborate closely with the Analytics team to develop, implement and leverage models for pricing and risk selection. Ensure effective deployment and ongoing monitoring of model performance.
· Drive Strategic Decision-Making: Provide actuarial guidance to inform critical business decisions across underwriting, pricing, and product development. Insights will help shape the future of our Commercial Auto and General Liability lines.
· Regulatory Filings: Prepare actuarial justifications for rate filings and other regulatory activities specific to Commercial Auto and General Liability.
· Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Preferred Experience and Skills:
· 5+ years of actuarial experience in the property/casualty insurance industry with a focus on commercial lines. Experience in Commercial Auto and/or General Liability is preferred.
· Strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation
· Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts for non-technical audiences and communicate the impacts of various possible actions under consideration by the business
· Ability to build strong partnerships across functions and communicate with multiple departments on projects
Preferred Education and Training:
· Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
· Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) or actively pursuing Fellowship (FCAS)
