What You Will Contribute:
As a SCADA engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, optimization, and development of global Ignition systems. You will assist in the development of a global framework and strategy to build a fully connected manufacturing environment and visualizations to provide real-time information and data including KPIs such as OEE. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions from various automation sources such as Rockwell PLCs, Fanuc robots, monitoring sensors, and test equipment.
Job Duties:
Assists in the strategy development of the overall Ignition platform.
Configures, administers, and performance regular system maintenance.
Develops Ignition and Sepasoft applications which may include databases and database interfaces, data handling & reporting, scripting (python), REST API development.
Builds integrations between ERP, MES, Scada, and PLC and automation systems.
Conducts analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing and implementation of Ignition SCADA and Sepasoft MES systems.
Conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes.
Prepares and publishes system and programming documentation.
Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
Coordinates development related application upgrade activities.
Leads data migration and integration efforts.
Trains other personnel in the integration, implementation, and use of the system.
Mentors and trains junior engineers
Up to 10% travel required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical or related engineering field required
5+ years of proven experience with SCADA systems, including design, configuration, and maintenance highly desired.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced development experience with Ignition including Perspective, Vision, Alarming Pipelines
Advanced experience building OEE applications
Experience Integrating SCADA with Allen-Bradley, Siemens PLCs, Fanuc
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Sepasoft OEE configuration and development
Advanced experience with large scale design and development of HMI, MES, and SCADA systems built around the Ignition platform
Experience implementing complex network architecture in cloud and on-premises Ignition SCADA system and troubleshooting
Advanced experience working with various device interfaces like OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, IO-Link, RFID, etc
Intermediate understanding of XML, JSON, REST API Web services
Intermediate knowledge of Python and Microsoft SQL
Experience Integrating Ignition with MES Systems and ERP Systems
