What You Will Contribute:
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with Manager of Pre-construction and Integration, identify key strategic objectives pertaining to new AMI opportunity (RFX).
- Conduct opportunity intaking activities to summarize key inputs and identify opportunity risk profile.
- Identify scope of work, generate applicable bid solicitation forms and manage subcontractor bid activity.
- Perform subcontract bid analysis, inclusive of review for scope gaps and assumptions, and create commercial price comparisons.
- Utilize collaborative construction best practices to develop initial baseline schedules for inclusion in proposals.
- Using internal templates and resources, develop initial commercial statements of work for opportunities.
- Act as a communication hub for external partners during the pre-bid process, ensuring information is shared accurately, fairly, and expediently.
- Manage subcontractor prequalification process, including due diligence paperwork, as assigned by manager. Develop new relationships with subcontractors as required based on strategic account targets.
- Manages positive relationships with subcontractors and vendors throughout the bid development process.
- Gathers details and maintains current market data necessary to accurately estimate direct labor, direct material, and applicable indirect costs associated with projects.
- Meets, and when possible, improves project cost targets through value engineering activities during the bid phase.
- Uses internal processes and forms to ensure a consistent experience for partners submitting pricing as well as project managers managing projects. Recommend changes to processes or documents where efficiencies can be gained.
- When applicable, manage post-award negotiations of pricing changes from external partners (e.g. best-and-final offers, change orders, etc.)
- Work alongside Turnkey Operations Manager to maintain and update historical cost databases to more accurately facilitate future budgeting.
- Supports business development activities by participating in pipeline reviews with sales team to begin partnership development with key subcontractors in advance.
- Provides support to the Marketing/R&D teams relative to beta sites and product support concerns for pre-released products when part of a Turnkey Operations implementation.
- Communicates all suggested and/or required literature, procedure, and policy updates to the Manager – Turnkey Operations to assure the highest level of project management success.
- Attends appropriate training and skill enhancement courses as required to stay up to speed with the evolving technology and systems internally and externally.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field
3+ years of experience with familiarity with AMI and the water industry is generally a plus
Qualifications:
Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, customers and subcontractors as well as a strong understanding of deadline significance (sense of urgency)
Ability to read and interpret customer-driven technical documents, such as RFX (Request for Proposals, Request for Bid, etc.) to determine key project objectives, scope, schedule and other requirements.
Ability to learn and gain an understanding of Badger Meter’s go to market approach, core value proposition and differentiators in the marketplace.
Ability to recognize and develop mitigation strategies for contractual risks or unknown conditions
Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with internal and external parties supporting the bids process.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word experience/proficiency
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to effectively prioritize deadlines
