What You Will Contribute:

The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.

Badger Meter is hiring a Test Engineering Intern. The Test Engineering Intern will be exposed to a wide variety of engineering skills and processes. As a Test Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to be involved in NPD (New Product Development) teams. This position will test equipment hardware and software, along with hands on troubleshooting of test systems. The Test Engineering Intern will become familiar with test yield and test time improvements.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist in hardware/software troubleshooting of existing automated test equipment located worldwide

  • Involvement with NPD (New Product Development) projects, including supporting the test engineer(s) in the design, fabrication, debug, and release of test equipment

  • Test engineering lab support, including organizing and tracking various electronic components and assemblies

  • Leverage existing database tools, to develop reports on current test yields. Create Pareto charts to identify most critical targets for yield or test time improvement projects

  • Create electrical schematics and BOM’s (Bill of material) using test engineering CAD tools. May include converting legacy schematics

  • Perform updates and repair of existing test fixtures and systems, including basic wiring and mechanical work, with assistance of senior test engineer as necessary

  • Involvement in the research and development of new test equipment hardware standards

  • Purchasing and receiving test engineering components and assemblies

  • Willingness to learn NI LabView programming and basic soldering

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products

  • Experience with software programming and writing code in at least one language
