Summary
Under the direction of the Practice Director of Development and Improvement, Intern will learn, assist and apply skills needed to provide coaching and support to diverse leadership teams in performance improvement, change management and leadership training through the application of basic and advanced problem-solving principles and thinking. Tools used include structured problem solving, process maps, visual management, facilitation, project management, and change management skills to support continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
With supervision, will assist in facilitation of complex, cross-functional improvement teams to address performance improvement goals; effectively utilize relationships to facilitate progress within teams; use effective facilitation tools to encourage participation and enhance project progress
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical and healthcare staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes. These activities are conducted with front-line employees to improve care delivery and reduce waste or non-value added activities.
Will assist in guiding, facilitating and assisting with the implementation of problem-solving methodology within assigned teams & clinical operations that result in measurable improvements.
Apply rigorous data management methods and support teams to collect, analyze, and summarize data. Assure integrity of data sets and data elements through routine and systematic procedures, Develop alternative solutions to overcome data limitations.
Act as change agent to foster a rigorous, patient centric, continuous process improvement culture throughout the practice and drive measurable process improvements.
Assist in the development of project charters and monitoring project progress through performance and improvements in key metrics.

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects.
Willing to learn team leadership skills, problem-solving, analysis, change management, and process improvement skills.
Analytical and computer skills, including knowledge and use of statistics, spreadsheets and word processing software, Visio, electronic mail and the internet.
Ability to learn new systems software. Independent and self-motivated.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education: Senior undergraduate student in good standing.
Preferred Education: Graduate student in good standing.
