Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) | Department of Pediatrics | Division of Pediatric Critical Care (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Division of Pediatric Critical Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary or specialty medical care within the Inpatient setting. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Children's Wisconsin hospital campus. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

Position Highlights:

  • Join a multidisciplinary epilepsy team of providers

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with epilepsy across both inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Partner and collaborate with supervising physicians and attendings on the inpatient unit

  • Work in a vibrant academic medical center with active involvement in teaching and mentoring

  • Collaborate with fellows, residents, and medical students during clinical care and educational activities

  • Participate in case conferences, grand rounds, and interdisciplinary teaching sessions

  • May practice at two or more clinical locations

  • Reports to the Child Neurology APP Manager

  • Required: Full-Time

  • Required: Salaried (Exempt)

Department/Division Highlights:

Join our growing pediatric neurology division, with over 15 faculty and 10 APPs. We have NAEC accredited Level IV Epilepsy Center with a newly upgraded EMU and advanced neurodiagnostics.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:

• Previous APP in Child Neurology experience preferred.
• Open to new grads.

Minimum Education:

  • Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.

  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner

  • Wisconsin RN License

  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License

  • Certification Requirements:

    • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • DEA registration

  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization:

    • Pediatric NP (PNP).

Physician Assistant

  • Wisconsin Physician Assistant License

  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

  • Certification Requirements (multi-select which are applicable for position):

    • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • DEA registration
