Position Summary:

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) School of Pharmacy is seeking qualified candidates for Post-Graduate Year 1 Resident(s) in Community-Based Pharmacy Residency in the Clinical Sciences Department at MCW School of Pharmacy with a practice site at Evergreen Pharmacy. The resident will participate an intensive community-based patient care and faculty development experiences that will prepare the resident as a community-based primary care pharmacist and academic leader, to ensure access to high quality, innovative primary care services, reduce health disparities and promote community wellness.

Position Highlights:

The 1-year full-time residency beginning July 1, 2026 will prepare the candidate for a successful community-based pharmacy and academic career, emphasizing:

  • Clinical excellence and teamwork

  • Community-engagement and partnership

  • Educational design, teaching and evaluation

  • Research on primary care conditions and processes, to improve quality, access and patient-centered outcomes

By collaborating with a rich network of community partners, residents provide pharmaceutical and primary care services to patients in the community. Residents will address social and economic determinants of care, and work to optimize delivery of care to patients in the community. Our nationally recognized faculty provide educational training to complement clinical experience. Residents benefit from collaborations with other primary care physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social scientists with expertise in population health management, patient-centered care, inter-professional teams and chronic disease self-management. Clinical and teaching experiences, research training, and mentorship are individualized to meet unique needs and interests of each resident.

Residents hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor, and receive:

  • A competitive stipend and benefits

  • Support of a network of productive faculty and peers

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements include a PharmD degree, eligibility for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Wisconsin, and a commitment to a career in community-based pharmacy practice.

  • Residents must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

  • Spanish language proficiency is required for this role.
