Summary
To provide direct clinical services necessary for the management and treatment of persons with mental health issues. To participate as a member of an academic setting multidisciplinary team serving a generally commercial population.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide clinical services within a State of Wisconsin certified outpatient mental health and AODA outpatient clinic including individual, family or group psychotherapy for a caseload of adults with a diverse range of mental health issues.
Triage of emergent situations, phone conversations, on-call responsibilities, and the ability to negotiate healthcare and social service systems.
Complete intake assessments and develop appropriate service plans. Document in an electronical medical record (EPIC) as needed.
Interface with clinical faculty and staff to include MD’s, residents, therapists, nurses, interns and support staff. Provide diagnostic consultation; maintain and participate in Quality Assurance activities.
Ddocumentation requirements for all services provided and participate in clinical supervision/consultation in compliance with all county, state and federal rules.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
Knowledge of both psychiatric and substance abuse principles and skills regarding diagnosis and treatment.
Ability to provide individual, group and family psychotherapy.
Ability to function in an interdisciplinary team. Sociocultural sensitivity.
Ability to respond to clinical and administrative emergencies.
Education and/or experience in outpatient interventions in an outpatient mental health setting.
Qualifications
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum Required Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or other Mental Health related field.
Minimum Required Experience: Minimum 3000 post-graduate supervised hours and experience in an outpatient setting
Preferred Certification/Licensure(s): Certification in Alcohol and other Drug Abuse (AODA), Screening and Brief Intervention and Referral (SBIRT), preferred.
Physical Requirements
Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
Sensory Acuity
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
